The magic of storytelling

 I always remember the first story I wrote. It was called the 'Monster in the Cupboard' ... I need not explain the plot! 

 

Written at school on a little, pastel-coloured book I'd made out of folded paper, with carefully etched drawings on each page, it was a piece of work that I was proud of. So proud I still remember the creation by my seven-year-old self vividly. 


I recall feeling so inspired by all the magical storybooks I'd read and had been read, that it ignited a love of writing that still burns brightly in me to this day.


Storytelling is such an incredibly powerful thing. Stories draw you in, they envelop you and move you in unimaginable ways. They leave lasting impressions, like a permanent marker on a whiteboard, and inspire you beyond words.
